Wordpress Ping List

WordPress Ping List: Ultimate Resource for Fast Indexing in 2021

In this post I’m going to talk about the WordPress update services in details, what are the ping

services? How to update our WordPress ping list in 2018? If we are using the latest list, why our site is not indexed yet, what could be the other reasons? To get all these questions answered, read on.

Once your blog is up, the next thing you think of is getting traffic, don’t you?

And the organic traffic is the main source that you should try to get. But what if you did a huge effort in writing a great post and hit the publish button, to notice after some days that your post is not indexed yet in Google!!!

This scenario happens a lot, especially to those new bloggers.

Search engines take time to index your website, depending on many factors, and as your site is new, you shouldn’t expect search engines to index it quickly, unless you notify these search engines with your updates, and that’s what the Ping Services do for you.

What are the Ping Services?

Ping services are those services you can use to notify search engine that your blog has new or updated page to be indexed, and believe me, they will make the life easier.

How to Use the Ping Services?

Some of these services can be used manually like Pingomatic and Pingler but, is this way considered practical for bloggers? Of course not!

Bloggers publish and update their content very often and need this process to be automated in their WordPress. To get this done, the Update Services should be used instead.

All we should do is to copy/paste the updated WordPress Ping List we have collected (it will be shared later in this post) in the WordPress Update Services box. To do so:

From you administration panal go to Setting>> Writing, where you will find the “Update Services”

Update Services

Then hit the “Save changes” button.

As you saw above, all you have to do is to do it once and forget all about it.

Pretty easy, isn’t it?

What if you have an up to date WordPress ping list and still you experience delay in indexing your new posts or updates?

Other Reasons That Make Your Posts Indexing Slower:

Did you install an XML sitemap?

If the site is new, Google knows nothing about it, so you are strongly recommended to facilitate the process by providing the XML sitemap. Installing the sitemap will help your site getting indexed properly, whether  the site is new,  the page recently posted, or you have complex structure with a lot pages nested deeply in your blog.

Have you submitted the XML sitemap to GWT and BWT?

Submitting your sitemap to Google and Bing webmaster tools will make it even faster, instead of waiting for bots to visit your site,  you are inviting them yourself to visit the site. Resubmit the sitemap again when you have new post.

Being persistent works very well!

Posting content on regular basis works great to get your site indexed quickly.  Google is more intelligent now enough than before to learn how often you update your blog and when it is time to check it for new updates.  So, even if you don’t have time to post a lot of content, schedule your posts to be published on regular bases, and NEVER post randomly.

Bottom line:

As I mentioned above, this WordPress ping list of 2021 plays a huge role in the process, but it couldn’t be the only reason of the indexing delay you might face, you should check all the reasons I have listed above and leave no stone unturned. If you see that there are more reasons just leave it below in the comment box.

  • Hey bro,
That’s an amazing piece. Most of don’t know about this feature of wordpress that it has the capability of self-pinging. All the sites should be added into the wordpress ping list. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hey,
Thanks a lot brother, it is really great to meet you here. You are right, bloggers and webmasters should not miss this feature as it saves a lot of time.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  • Hi Hussain,

Thanks for the updated Ping list. Like Marquita I already had a list – but it was shorter than your updated list.

I thought it probably wasn’t a good idea to “double-ping” so what I did was take my list and your list, then copy / paste them both into Excel. Then I used the Excel “Remove Duplicates” tool to leave me with just one copy of the services on the combined list.

Thanks for bringing me up to date with 2016 services to ping.

    Joy – Blogging After Dark

    • Hi Joy,
The way you have done it is just perfect, I personally use it. “double-ping” is not a good practice, and everyone should avoid it.

      Thanks for your valuable comment.

  • This is an amazing list, thank you! I was aware of what a Ping list is, but mine is much smaller so I really appreciate you sharing this information! This is one of those things that can so easily fly under the radar, but everything adds up, doesn’t it? Thanks again.

    • Thanks Marquita,
Yeah, my list could be longer as what you have could be the default list or taken from only one source, I’m sure that this list will do great for you.
      Thanks for stopping by!

      Have a nice day.
